On this sweet, sunny afternoon, I served lunch on the porch. I was inspired by a lively blue and green tablecloth, just the antidote for the long winter.
April comes from the Latin word aperit—to open. Isn’t that what spring is all about? To celebrate, I chose a vibrant blue, green, and yellow color scheme, layering the dinnerware: Spode “Baking Days” plates, Portmeirion “Botanic Garden” bowls, and antique leaf plates. The flower-stamped flatware is by Portmeirion, too. (I love anything that has a gardening motif.) Kim Seybert napkin rings made a colorful statement.
